STUDY OF CROSS-SHORE PROFILES AT SOUTH COASTS OF THE CASPIAN SEA UNDER RAPID CHANGES IN WATER LEVEL

Coastal zone management needs the prediction of changes in shoreline and coastal profiles, where fluctuation sea water level plays an essential role. Climate change human activities have accelerated fluctuation/falling levels lakes enclosed basins. Using satellite images cross-shore beach profiles at twelve monitoring stations along southern coasts Caspian Sea, effect rapid fall on nearshore morphology is studied this research. Radiometric atmospheric corrections are made images, NDWI index used to increase accuracy extraction. Comparing different methods, it concluded that Hands (1984) formula relatively better predicts advancement rate due lowering level.
